Your motherboard doesn't support natively usb3.0, a normal front panel can't be plugged into it.
Question about speed: Which devices you wanna plug into the usb3 ports?
Transfer rate will be about 10 times higher than usb2

That is what I have been looking at but I didn't know I had to get the card. I was thinking of it going straight to the board good looking out.
Mainly transferring large files between drives.
Also just trying to keep the old warhorse up to date as I can.
