Yesterday i finished building my gaming pc. I originally had a problem after turning on windows 8 mode (which is evil) then restarting my computer only to be greeted by the efi shell command prompt. I then looked into how to get out of efi shell command prompt I where I found if you added in a extra piece of ram you would your mobo would go back to the bios after a system change. I also noticed I didn't install a 8gb stick of ram properly so i put it in. After turning the system back on my monitor can not get a signal from my computer. Even though all of the fans are spinning and the hard drives are working, note I can not also turn the computer off via the off button so i am restricted to turning it off at the power supply. I do hope this does not mean my motherboard or my video card has gone bad as these are all brand new parts.

Specs:
Motherboard: Msi 970 gaming motherboard.
Ram: 16gb ddr3 gskill ripjaws X ram (2 sticks of 8gb ram).
Cpu: Amd 8350 black edition.
Gpu: Msi Gtx 960 4gb.

Its in the motherboard its looks like this http://imgur.com/aGFc6D8 it might be black color for you what i would do is take it out launch the pc let it run for a min turn off and put back the cmos jumper back all it will reset the bios it wont harm your pc so its okay. Ill be getting of now if that wont work try looking up in internet or waiting for someone to respond to your.

Also if you updated your bios and it happened after that your motherboard could be fried and u would need to replace it it happened to me before after bios update but first research on internet the problem you have or ask the community if they will respond.

No I didn't update the bios as I didn't need to and I don't think its fried as the fans are working, the harddrives are running and the motherboard is lit up as well.
