So I just got an M-key SSD and a PCIe adapter to go with it, but it's not being recognized by the BIOS under boot devices. However, it was recognized by Windows before I migrated my OS to it. I have since wiped my old disk, and now I have a functioning SSD (I hope) and no way to boot into it at the moment. Can anyone help me?

Peregrine X, You are correct. The Lycom is bootable as I am using one with an Samsung SM951 SSD with NVME specs. Can you give me the model number of the SM951 please. Let me check if its an NVME model or an AHCI spec'd model. If its an AHCI interfaced model and you try to run it on the adapter card then you will not have it recognised by your BIOS as its looking for an device on the SATA controller while all the time you have the SSD fixed to the PCIE lanes. The BIOS can not see it as it can't read the SSD on the adapter. If the SSD is an NVME interfaced device then it should work as your motherboard supports UEFI bios. One last question - what OS was on your old HDD that you cloned?
