Hi guys.
I have looked around on many different forums for similar issues and have found similar issues, but nothing I have tried has really done the trick. I am hoping there is something I can do that is low cost since I am a poor grad student currently who has a gaming hobby (not ideal i know..)
Anyway. I have an Acer laptop with a Nvidia GeForce 840M graphics card in it. When I play certain games, I will play for a little bit then everything will freeze and a horrible buzzing noise comes from the speakers and I have to hard reset. I have tried using MSI Afterburner to monitor temps and speeds and adjust anything if possible, but since its a laptop, I guess I cant adjust fans that arent there. And I dont know if there is anything Afterburner can do to help. I am not the most knowledgeable with computers. I know enough to get by, but not anywhere where I would like to be. Any help would be much appreciated.
Games that freezing occurs:
Skyrim
Final Fantasy XIII
Tomb Raider
Fallout New Vegas
