Hello community of tomshardware!
I've been researching this for hours upon hours for the best motherboard to pair with the AMD FX-6300. It's been back and forth and all these topics have been fairly old. As for 2016, did these mobos change? I have found a few mobos that I've put in a comparison on new egg. My budget is around 70 for one so these are the five that i've been comparing. Although I've learned quite a bit about computer these few days but when I try to compare them I just see numbers. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could steer me in the right direction and if you could let me know why you would pick it over the others. Here are the motherboards:

Thank you all so much for your time and help! :)

There hasn't been a new AM3+ board in quite awhile. That platform is not going to get much new for it anymore.

Since you will no doubt want to OC the FX-6300 to get the most performance from it, scratch any that don't have a heat sink on the VRMs. That leaves the GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3P, GIGABYTE GA-970A-D3P, and the ASRock 970 Extreme4 as possible choices.

All those boards are 4+1 phase power (I think), not the best but what you would expect at that price point. I've had both Gigabyte and Asrock AM3+ boards and like them all. However I favor the Asrock for OC'ing. Mine is this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157576
But if you want to stay in budget, any of those last three above will be fine.

Thank you so much for your help! I'm happy you've had these products which helps out a ton! One more question for you though. I just ran across this for 90: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128859
Would you spend the extra 25 over the asrock?

I would, yes. In fact, that's the Gigabyte board I had... twice. Once a rev 1 and once a rev 4. But that one is a newer version of it. That board has 8+2 phase power and the better 990FX chipset.

Actually, there is a new AM3+ board that I recently purchased, and it's phenomenal. It's the Gigabyte GA-990FX-Gaming. It's a $135 on Newegg and it's, in my opinion, the best board for FX CPUs on the market. The best overclocking board is still the Crosshair V Formula-Z, but it's lacking the updated features, and that would only be an issue with the massive cooling and the 8 core chips. The GA-990FX-Gaming can legitimately run a 9590 for normal use, but will have plenty of head room for a 6300. The addition of updated USB and M.2 ports is great, and I found the board to work very smoothly. Here's a link.

Wow that is a nice board! A little more then I wanted to spend though. Getting the 990 r5 for 89 after rebate so I feel confident in that although yours is clearly better. Something to look into for my next build!

I've used two Asrock boards for AMD and I really liked both of them. In fact, my Extreme9 is my test bench board for reviews since I still need that beefier VRM. I think you'll like it and the price is good. Just grab the latest BIOS for them and you're golden.
