running 2 cards in sli and having a 3ed card as a amd card for the second data screen

i am wanting to run 2 gtx 970 in sli with a 3ed card ( ati r5 230) for my second screen that's for monitoring, chat and what music is playing.
its on a x99 platform with windows 10 pro 64 bit with 32gb ram

Well, not even SLI 970s will max every game at 144hz, but they'll certainly do a really good job.

If you were planning to game across two monitors in an Nvidia Surround configuration, then a third GPU would make sense. However, as you're gaming on one monitor and idling the other, two GPUs will be plenty. The second monitor isn't taxing the GPU at all.

i just want to be able to run all my games at 144hz at max settings @ 1920x1080 so i would like to have all the gpu power i can get for that
