I have a gtx980ti and a full size tower.

My budget for the rest of the components is $1300. Looking for gaming, vr, 4k, video editing...

Was considering i7 5820k with Asus x99 pro or i7 6770k with.. The choices. To many.

Can only buy from amazon as I'm in a FPO.

If you are video editing, then go with the X99 + 5820k. Its more than enough for gaming, and will give you better performance than the 6700k in anything that needs more cores/threads.
