Need help with building a better PC - AMD A8-7600

Here is what I am planning to buy:

AMD A8-7600 Kaveri 3.1 Ghz

Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H FM2+ AMD A88x

Corsair VS550 PSU

Kingston FURY 8GB DD3 1866 CL10 DIMM

Now, I have a GTS450 from my old computer and I would like to see if I can put it to use instead of throwing it off? I understand that this APU isn't very suitable for any new games even at playable settings (720p or higher at medium settings?)

I also read in one of the articles here that it is recommended to have 2 x 4GB (be it any MHz..1600/1866/2133) rather than 1 x 8GB (of same MHz). Please shed some lights on this.

I am upgrading my machine after a really long time and I would not mind shelling some extra bucks for a considerable improvement in performance.

Please be advised that I am not looking for an extreme gaming PC. I had a GTS450 and I bought it after a lot of research (I mean a LOT!) and it was perfect for my AOC V22+ monitor to be played at 1680x1050 res (all games). I knew it was the only card in that category to support DX11 (Tesselation) and therefore, it didn't become obsolete for atleast 4 years.

I am on a tight budget and have already swapped A6 6400 Richland with A8 7600K after researching for a while so I won't have much options now to make any more changes considering the budget constraint. However, please let me know if this rig is suitable for playing games at 1680x1050 on medium settings atleast?

If not, what could be the most economical option to achieve this?

Any information/help is much appreciated.

Solution
That board would be fine, and would allow you to overclock that i3. I still recommend getting a better PSU, though. That is the most important part of your system.

I would not get that PSU, as it is not a quality unit. Stick with tier 1 or tier 2 units. http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

GTS 450 is faster, than the graphics in that APU. Ram should be in 2x4gb, for dual channel. You lose ram bandwidth/performance, when using only 1 stick. I wouldn't use only one stick, unless motherboard only had 2 ram slots. The 860k, may be a less expensive option. It does lack IGP, so if your graphics dies, your system will not be usable. Another possible option would be an i3 41xx series, with an H81 board.

Thank you for your swift response.

Would the graphics on A10 7870k be any different than it is on A8-7600?

Would I be able to crossfire my GTS450 with either of them?

Thank you.

You cannot crossfire an APU, with an Nvidia card, only an AMD card. That type of crossfire doesn't work very well anyway. The GTS 450 would still be more powerful, than the 7870k. If you can afford a 7870k, then I would definitely go with an i3. Even an i3 6100 is typically cheaper, than a 7870k. Not sure if boards and ram prices, in your area would be any better. You would want DDR4 and a DDR4 capable H110 board, at minimum.

Thank you for the information. I had no idea in the intel department. Been researching for the last couple of hours and it seems that going with i3 6100 would be a costly solution for my requirements. I did see that it surpasses A8-7600 in every way except the graphics department. However, considering the price difference. That is, i3 6100 itself is costlier than a8 7600 (by almost 2.5k here in India). Plus that would make me buy a mobo which is quite the same price as the one for AMD. Plus, the DDR4 is expensive than DDR3 rams here (i think there too). And putting a ddr3 doesn't really make sense in a ddr4 mobo to underutilize it.
So bottom line, even after spending more, i will still need to invest in a good discrete graphics card to be able to play games. (I'm a fps guy.) Hence, I would rather prefer save that money and buy a gpu anyways later to use it with AMD.

You said the PSU I selected isn't a good one (Corsair vs550). Can you please tell me why?
Also, if you've any better ideas about this one, please let me know.

Many thanks
Abhishek

PSU is not good, due to low quality capacitors that are prone to fail. Not sure where you are shopping, but the i3 6100 is cheaper than an A10 you were asking about. That is why I suggested i3 6100

What is your actual budget, for CPU, motherboard, ram, and PSU?

My initial budget was around 20k for mobo, processor, ram, 1tb hdd, cabinet and psu. Now, it has already increased to upto 30k with change of mind after researching a bit.☺

What kind of rig would you recommend though considering my budget is 30k for all?

Also, on this apu, will i be able to connect my GTS450 (after disabling iGPU)?

Yea, I was using a GTS 450 with my 3570k, at one point, while waiting on another card to ship to me. 3570k also has IGP.

@30k, you can just barely sneak by with an i3 6100, and still get a PSU by a quality manufacturer.

Wow mate. Now, it feels that God has sent you for a reason - a noble cause! :D

Okay, so I have added all of that to my Amazon cart and the total comes to INR 30,848. Yes. it's a bit costly on Amazon compared to IT depot; however, IT depot charges me 2600/- for speedpost and 512/- for making a payment online (No, I mean seriously?)

So, I will go with Amazon in this case and let me tell you..the order is actually lower than that was in my updated cart:

Circle CC 830 Professional Gaming Cabinet - 4380/-

WD Blue 1 TB 7200rpm - 3951/-

AMD A8 7600 FM2+ - 7489/-

Gigabye GA-G1 Sniper A88x - 8950/-

Gskill 8 GB (2 x 4GB 2133) - 5200/-

That sniper mobo is something you might want to look at. The best part I liked about it is that it's the only available mobo with an OP-AMP on mobo itself. (I think it might be an upper edge for gaming experience).

However, please help me understand this. I bought a Asus Xonar DG 5.1 sound card for my previous computer from IT depot in 2012. Do you think it will still work with this new Intel Gigabyte mobo you mentioned?

1. Also, will I be able to connect by GTS450 with the same mobo? ( I really want to use both my graphics and sound card on the new machine I am building and I understand it is definitely not possible with the AMD APU but might work on Intel?)

2. You mentioned 1 x 8 GB 2400! Should I not go for 2 x 4 GB (dual channel) instead?

3. Will the gigabyte intel mobo support 2400?

That H110 board is ddr4. Ddr4 will not work with that AMD setup. I only did one stick, because it is only a 2 slot board. That A8 is quite inferior to the i3. A previous gen i3 4130, h81 board, and an 8gb stick of 1600 ddr3 may be a bit cheaper. Flipkart had those.

Yeah.. No what I meant is.. I want to use my GTS450. I see that it's a PCi express 2.0 x16.
Will that work with intel h110 mobo?

Is there any possible way that lets me use my 450? Thanks mate

Asus H170M-PLUS 64GB DDR4 Intel Motherboard

Corsair SMPS CX500 500 Watts PSU

===============
Total - 34660/-

I hope I will be able to play current games at 1680x1050 at playable fps for the time being (till I upgrade my GPU..not untill next year.)

I didn't go with hydance because the reviews aren't very promising. However, please let me know if you think anything could be better and cheaper than the above I am building. You have been very helpful mate! Thank you!!!
