My tower is located behind the wall of where my desk is. I have all required cables routed through the wall (I like a clean look).

The issue is, if I want to wear headphones, I have to plug in the extension cable into the headphone jack in the room where tower is located. Then I plug in my headphones to extension cable where my desk is.

Is there an easier way to accomplish this?

Thanks,
Matt

Solution
Control Panel > Sound

There should be multiple devices showing up. Right click on your headphones, or speakers and 'Set as Default Device'

This is what I do to switch between speakers and headphones without unplugging anything, although my headphones are connected through USB.

I put a shortcut to the Sound icon on my desktop to make this easy. Just switch the 'Default Device' each time you want to change
