$850 PC Gaming Build

So, someone I know is building a PC and has the follow parameters:

-At least an i7 cpu (considering the i7 4790s for 200 dollars on craigslist)
-GTX 970
-1TB Hard drive
-8Gb of ram

He already has a monitor/keyboard/mouse, doesn't need those. Can somebody suggest a specific list of parts? (with links?) Essentially the most bang for the buck while filling the above requirements.

It'll be in his room away from where our router/modem is so it needs to have a wi-fi card built-into the motherboard, also I think we'll need "antennas" that stick out the back of the PC.

Xeon is an acceptable alternative since they really are the same thing. But a build with the i7 new for sure is as follows. Note I included a copy of Windows since you didn't say you had one already, if you do the price knocks down to $835.61.

I've heard that the i7's are almost always better at single-threaded applications, vs xeons. Considering this will be a gaming computer I'm not sure that a xeon would be a good idea (considering that is designed as a server CPU)

Also isn't 550w kinda low for the gtx 970?

That is a common mistake that people make. This series of Xeons is exactly the same as the i7s just without graphics. The one I have in the list is the equivalent of an i7 4770. I have this CPU and use it for gaming everyday paired with a r9 390 and haven't had any problems. https://youtu.be/yQ59vHSFfZA

The 4790s will perform about the same if not slightly worse than the Xeon 1231 v3. But if you can get a working one for 200 than you should definitely grab it.
