My computer keeps crashing to a black screen when playing games, but only when it is under stress i.e. on high game settings.
What happens is the screen goes black and the display says it is receiving no signal. The sound continues for two seconds then also cuts off. The computer is still on and I can hear all the components running.
I have done a CPU stress test and this does not cause crashing so I can only assume the CPU is fine.
However when I run a GPU stress test (FurMark) the screen instantly goes black but I can still hear the fan of the graphics card running. I have looked at the voltages and temperatures etc. in HWINFO and I cant see anything obviously wrong.
The GPU I have is a GTX 970 and it was only at around 50 degrees C at the points of crash.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
