I have two Nvidia GTX 970's and have been trying to fix my problem for several weeks now, here are my specs;

-850 Watt PSU
-Intel core i7 4790k
-Asus Maximus VII Hero
-and finally the Hard 2 way long Sli I just bought

Here is EVERYTHING I have tried
-Reboot
-Install all necessary drivers then reboot
-Flip old flexible 2 way SLI, use both spots to put it in, flip it again, etc etc.
-Swap Graphics Cards in spots (which required me to install all the drivers again)
-Bought Display port cables so I could run all of my monitors into one card (heard that worked)
-Do a clean installation of the Nvidia drivers (twice or three times I think)
-Buy the 2 way hard SLI I'm attempting to get to work
-Driver Hack (failed)
-Swap the graphics cards and installed drivers again

I have been so frustrated for almost 4 weeks trying to do this, I don't want to find out the pins are bad on the graphics cards or something like that. I've spent enough money on hardware trying to get this to work. Please help if you think you can. Thanks in advance.

Solution

Find the model #s on the list I linked and compare. There are two versions of the ACX cards. ACX 2.0, and ACX 2.0+. They are not compatible. Nor is the reference card compatible with the others.

They are both 970, except one is SC but when I did my research I saw in most places people said as long is it is 970 then it will work.

What are the model #s of your cards. It does matter. Are they both EVGA?

They are apparently not compatible, thank you so so much for your help! I guess I'll have to return my card if I can and definitely check that chart you gave me before getting the proper one. Have a good day!

Send in a ticket to EVGA. They'll help you out. Their customer service department is absolutely amazing.
