Will this particular memory (G-skill ripjaws 4) work with an MSI Z170a pro motherboard?

They aren't listed on either website as being compatible with each other, but i've read that generally any ddr4 RAM should work with a z170 motherboard, and pcpartpicker listed them as compatible. Have the manufacturers just not tested them together?

Yes they'll work, GSkill and a couple of lines of DRAM aimed at the z170, the Ripjaws V and the TridentZ lines, their secondary timings are a little more optimized for dual channel operations

well, it's a bit late for that considering both are sitting in front of me right now, the only thing yet to come in is the case.

Ah, well, i can always swap it out later. Just wanted to make sure it wouldn't go boom.
