Problem with HP laptop after reinstalling Windows 7

For whatever reason, I thought I'd try moving to Windows 10, however for some reason the upgrade crashed halfway through and bricked my laptop, so I had to reinstall 7. This was a clean install with no drivers or anything, so after I did all that, I've been constantly noticing that the entire computer seems pretty unstable. It won't really crash, but sometimes if I so much as open Photoshop, or any other RAM heavy program, I'll get a bunch of messages saying I've run out of RAM, and then it'll close the program (it didn't used to do that), which is incredibly annoying. I'm not really sure what I can do, my guess would be I reinstalled the OS improperly, and I'm sure I used the right drivers, as I got them straight from the HP website for my specific laptop model. Does anyone have any ideas if there's anything I can do to help determine the problem? I would reinstall Windows 7 again, but have since lost the USB it was installed on, because I'm a moron at times.

Solution
Test your ram (Memtest86) and your hard drive (Crystal Disk Info or the like) to rule out hardware issues. Also check temperatures (HWInfo or the like). That would be the first step I would take before attempting to diagnose software issue.
