Dear all,

I recently bought a new pc, Motherboard: Asus170pro gaming + usb3.1.
I first had issues installing windows 7, so downloaded usb3;0 driver and install it on the bootable USB. Now I was able to do the installation. After installation was done I wanted to install my missing drivers. Putted non bootable usb in the USB3.1 slot, but now he doesn't recognize my USB. Tried all other ports on the motherboard non of them shows me the USB drive in windows.

Whenever I open the BIOS menu and check if my motherboard finds the USB.
And yes he can find it in BIOS.

Someone who can help me out, cause without that I can't install missing drivers for networdcard usbs and others.

Thanks,

Well, that's the one I installed on my bootable usb drive.
After the installation of windows 7 I putted my other usb drive in the pc and that one doesn't get recognized.
So this blocks me from installing new drivers.

Even after installation I tried connecting the bootable usb to see if he can find it.
Without success so this means my pc doesn't want to find the usb drives.
But when I place in that port an mouse or keyboard those are working fine.

Yeah mean the procedure of create image?
I download the tool, unzipped it.
Then run the Installer_Creator.exe as admin, went to root of USB
and then runned the create image

Putted the usb in so I could install windows 7.
That was succesfully done, but now the motherboard doesn't recognize usb drives.
Also the bootable USB doesn't get found.

I'll explane what I did.

FIrst created the bootable usb with windows 7 ultimate with rufus.
The bootable USB is working perfectly cause on laptop I tried if the installation works there. Without any issue it asked me which version I wanted to choose. Whenever I putted the same bootable usb to the new dekstop(with asus H170 pro gaming + usb3.1) and there it gaved me the following error "a required cd/dvd drive device driver is missing, if you have a driver floppy disk, cd, dvd, or usb flash drive, please insert now". So then I placed usb on my laptop and runned the Windows 7* USB 3.0 Creator Utility program as Administrator. Choosed the location of the root of the USB then clicked on create image. After 15mins the installation was done successfully. Placed the bootable USB drive in the dektop, now I'm able to do the installation of the Windows 7. After the installation was done, opened windows explorer but there the bootable usb doesn't get found anymore. even when changing of usb port. So I took alot of USB drives and placed them into my dekstop so all usb ports are occupied. But none of then gets shown in windows explorer.

Rebooted the dekstop few times, without success. Also in disk Management there you can't find the usb drive.
Only when opening the bios menu, there I can see that the usbs are connected to the motherboard.

That's what I did

EDIT: it's an USB 2.0 that I use as bootable USB

You should add the USB 3 driver during the Windows 7 install not after, when youre in windows.

Because the drivers that Intel tool has after you click on create image, it looks like it "injects" the USB 3 drivers into the install.wim file, and the boot.wim file.

Did you boot from the flash drive, when you installed Windows 7? You're meant to. You dont install Windows in Windows

What if you eject the flash drive and plug it back in? Does Windows recognise it?

What you mean with "You should add the USB 3 driver during the Windows 7 install not after, when youre in windows"
Doesn't I just need to create the bootable usb with windows 7 and then when that's created run the Windows 7* USB 3.0 Creator Utility on the bootable usb? When that's created I booted from the USB to install it on my dekstop.

Also In windows explorer I have my SSD with the C drive like other windows machines are having.
With the maps program files / windows / users and so on.

When I plugin the bootable usb after the installation it doesnt gets recognized.
