Hi guys,
For some time now (6 months or so)I have been have problem waking up my pc from sleep.
It used to work 90% of the time but other 10% I had to unplug it and restart it again.

A few months back I also had problem with my graphics card. Screen used to go blank for a few seconds and I used to get message that the graphics driver has stopped working and has recovered.

I was out of town for a month and my computer was working fine for my siblings. They don't use sleep they just shut it down.
When I came back, I used it a little and put it to sleep.

When I switched it on the transistor on the Graphics Card blew.

Is it a coincident that it happen when I put it to sleep OR
Can there be something wrong with my power supply which caused it.
Or was it my graphics card all along.

I am going to buy a new graphics card and don't want it to blow up to .

specs:
i5 750 ,
MSI : P55 gd65
4 gb ram
ATI xfx 5770
Gigabyte 460w power supply

P.S i thinking of buying an asus R7 260x.

Solution
I see no logic that this is the PSU. If it was the PSU, then that would be an unsuppressed ripple. But you're putting it to sleep...

Now that I think about it, perhaps, you can open up the top of the PSU to check for any blown parts?

Make sure you unplug the PSU for about 2 hours to let the charge in the capacitors dissipate, and use rubber gloves for safety.
