Hello there!
I ve found similar threads but hard to know which one is the one.
I have an HP touch smart 600-1050gr (64bit version) with 4gb RAM (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01862319)
I bought two of this http://www.goodram.com/product/ram-modules/goodram-ddr3-so-dimm/
I replaced the old ones with these and I soon as I try to reboot, the monitor stays black.

From that link you posted about HP touch smart 600-1050gr

Memory upgrade information

  • - Dual channel memory architecture
    - Two DDR3 SO-DIMMs (200-pin) sockets
    - SO-DIMM type-PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333)
    - Non-ECC memory only, unbuffered
    - Supports 2 GB DDR3 SO-DIMMs
    - Maximum memory only if using 2GB DDR3 DIMM modules.
    - Supports up to 8 GB on 64-bit PCs
    - Supports up to 4 GB* on 32-bit PCs

So that mean it support up to 8GB of memory but only if you use 2GB modules and you got only 2 slots.
In short it does not support 8GB.

I think it's written clearly.
2 slots
Max supported RAM per slot 2GB
2 x 2 = 4GB
and no, you can't add more RAM slots.
So if you can return rams you bought, unless you got other usage for it.
