Hey there,

My CPU runs cool, but everything else runs quite hot.

I lost the side panel to my case (sorry, I forget what it's called - just a cheap one) and my techie-friend suggested I put my room fan in front of my PC and see it helped.

Well, it did surprisingly.

Now, I'm looking at buying a portable fan (or something of that nature) -

Something like this maybe ?

Solution
First step keep your system Dusted on a regular basis, if you do thats good it can cause the heat to rise on composites. also if your case has the spot for more fans add them.. if not upgrade the old fans for new ones. old fans can lose power over time. Also if you could post your specs for your PC including the case.. As for the desktop Fan yes it can help as a temporary Fix. but with a Open side panel you will have a massive amount of more dust getting into your system which is never good. get me the info and ill see how i can help. if you dont know the case post a Picture if you can.
