Wha is the Best AM3+ CPU in 2016?

I am looking to upgrade my CPU and can't seem to find a solid answer for this. I just wanted to know what the most powerful, and ass-kicking AMD AM3+ CPU was out there. I don't care about price right now, this is just for my knowlage.

Amd fx 9590 but it's really stupid to invest in it. If possible buy intel.. Just my thoughts, I use both amd and intel.

i guess its the fx-9590 but i dont see any other reason other than having an am3+ socket mb to buy an amd cpu until maybe zen cpus come out . intel is the smarter choice

If you intend to build a new system, altogether, then an Intel based rig would be stronger for most uses.

Ah, well as I said before this is just for my knowlages' sake. I just want to know what a good CPU upgrade would be that supports AM3+ and SLI maybe in the future, just so I can get a clue of what I'm dealing with.

If you want to just upgrade your CPU, then the FX-8370 is as high as you can go with your motherboard.

There is a near infinite range of options if some limits (budget, needs, items to re-use from existing build, etc) aren't established.
