I decided to build my own PC for my birthday instead of getting one from the shops, I thought as a avid gamer the experience of building one might be a good learning curve and just for fun.
What do you think about this build ? Will it power through demanding games or just flop ?
Thanks.

Looks like a great build! You won't necessarily need that CPU Cooler unless you're planning to overclock however they are always useful to keep around, and occasionally better than the stock.

I'd recommend a 1TB/2TB HDD as a backup in case your SSD fails or you run out of space, with this, the SSD can be prioritized for games/programs which you want to run/load faster and the HDD for data.

You may also want to find some cheaper RAM, there is some RAM on the market just as good at a cheaper price. I suggest recommend G.Skill or Kingston. That RAM is a rip off; it's the price of 16GB.
Otherwise it looks fine, will storm through games no problem! :)
