my newly built pc powers on (case fans, cpu, fan. as well as the gpu are all receiving power and running) but I am not receiving any beep and i'm not getting a display from the monitor. (this may not be related but when i press the power button on the case the system will turn on as it should but when i try to press the power button again it doesnt turn off, i usually have to physically unplug the power cable to power down)

I've tried plugging the monitor into both the video card and the mobo, neither of which worked. when i first powered on the pc i was able to turn it off with the power button (held in down for a few seconds) but anytime after that it no longer seems to power down in that way. still only powers down by unplugging cable. the gpu works fine on another computer as well.

i took out the gpu and connected to the mobo and still no display. the mother is revision 6.0
I'm still not receiving any beeps from the speaker. i received a continuous beep earlier (which indicated a power problem) and i fixed the issue with the psu meaning that the speaker works and does beep. however, i'm not receiving any beeps now indicating startup or any possible errors.
