Is i7 4770K enough for the next 3, 4 years?

It should be. If you pair it with a good cooler and a z series motherboard you should be able to overclock it and keep getting good performance from it for the next several years. It may not even be necessary for the time being but overclocking will help it age more gracefully and continue to be a performer despite its age.

Games will use more cores when DX12 is lauched but even then, having good single core performance will help a lot.

the i7 4790k runs cooler i think, the performance difference is tiny like 1 fps at most. I'd reccomend getting the cryorig h7 for $35 USD with the 4770k if you want somewhat future proof
