Guys, I know there is nothing called future proof in these days. But I would like to know can I play the upcoming games with my Core i5 3470 CPU? My rig details are given below;
Core i5 3470
Gigabyte B75
8 GB RAM
G1 GTX 970 Graphics Card.
600 Watt TR2 Thermaltake PSU
I am not a hardcore gamer, but still love to play the recent release games.
SO should I change my CPU+Mobo ? or I can use the CPU+Mobo till the end of 2016 (I have a plan to get the latest CPU with a gaming motherboard on 2017) ?

With that set up, you should be good for a while. That GPU handles all current games on Ultra at 1080p and will continue to do so. More importantly, the biggest idea in future-proofing is in terms of CPU's. As multicore performance is optimized for, newer games will benifit from multiple cores. You should do fine in this regard until you upgrade in 2017. At that point, your rig will be able to handle most games well and after the upgrade, you will be good for another 3 years or so. Overall, don't replace anything yet. Wait until your PC's performance is not to your liking, then replace stuff. Hope this helped!
