My fallout 4 opens to a black screen for 5 seconds then just shuts down. No error message or anything. Is my computer just awful?

specs -
Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 10586) (10586.th2_release.160104-1513)
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU 2117U @ 1.80GHz (2 CPUs), ~1.8GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM

Solution
Pretty bad for gaming, yes. May not be able to run the game with that low end CPU. But there could be several reasons the game quits "ungracefully" like that. Software conflicts, registry errors, low power PSU...
What make/model PSU do you have and what make/model fx card?

I'd say you have no chance that CPU has half the cores and around half the single threaded power of the minimum recommended specs then there's the fact you have no dedicated GPU if it will run at all you will struggle to hit 15fps

yeah it will not play. it was shutting down on me too. but i had a very old system with an i7 920 and a gtx260 and vista. upgraded to win10 and a 3dcard from this decade and now im playing on ultra. if you are trying to play on integrated graphics on what looks to be a laptop you might as well give up.
