I had built a brand new PC. However, the PSU didnt come with an PCI-E slot to plug into my GTX 950. So, I had STUPIDLY put the 4 pin connector that fits into the CPU 4 pin connector on the motherboard into the 6 pin on the GPU. I had then turned on the PC and then it started to burn slightly. I quickly took it out, tested the GPU on another Motherboard and it worked fine, no damage.
I then proceeded to buy a Corsair 600W PSU to replace the crap one I had been using. I plugged everything in and then - nothing. Nothing had turned on. My friends dad said that the motherboard was fried.
Could of me putting the 4 pin connector inside the 6 pin PCI-E slot for my GPU break any of the other components? i.e. CPU, RAM
