I'm building new system with i7 4930k, asus sabertooth x79 and 4x4 GB of ram. There are some questions; first of all if I buy 2400 mhz rams and overclock the motherboard with xmp profile, will the i7 4930k overclocked? Secondly, if I buy lower frequencies of ram such as 1866 mhz, will I be able to overclock these rams to 2400 mhz or higher frequencies, if it so, again will the i7 4930k overclocked?

I'd get the 2400, it will depend on your individual CPU if an OC is required for the DRAM at 2400. If so, and you don't want to OC can always drop it to 2133 or even 1866
