I was looking into painting my graphics card (EVGA). I want to make it black + red, but am not sure if it will be a safe procedure to do without ruining the card. I figured that if I used plasti dip or something peelable it will not void the warranty. Any ideas?

Solution
Painting DOES NOT void EVGA warranty. Only paint the shroud. DO NOT paint the backplate, fan, cooling fins, or PCB. The black plastic on the front around the fan is paintable. Use high heat spray paint, after removing the shroud. If you need to RMA it, they will charge you for a new shroud, but nothing else (As long as the paint wasnt what killed the card. Just only paint the plastic after taking it off)

I have heard a few people doing this, but I personally think its not a good idea. Even with plastidip it would be difficult to remove if ever needed. Sometimes it doesnt exactly just peel off. I wouldnt want to void my warranty in anyway, especially if its a expensive component.

Ive done this before, removing the fan shroud is cake and painted it with plasti dip. I had to RMA it because it got fried by my psu. I stripped off the dip and set it in, got another one back quickly with no questions asked. Go for it!
