Does Having Integrated Graphics on a CPU Have a Downside if NOT Used?

Looking at buying a new CPU, but am finding it difficult to find info about possible performance hits due to having integrated graphics on it if I DO NOT use it. It would be nice to have integrated graphics available just in case my video card goes out, but if there is a hit to performance I'd steer away from it. Any info would be amazing, thanks for everyone's time in advance!

There isn't a performance hit to having integrated graphics and not using it. In any case it is somewhat difficult to find a CPU with no onboard graphics these days, with the only ones that don't have onboard graphics being the AMD Athlons, AMD FX series, Intel's enthusiast oriented Core i7s on the LGA 2011-3 platform, and most Intel Xeon processors.
