I have installed the cooler to the motherboard, but when I put it in the case (cooler master haf 922) it doesn't lay flat due to the back plate of the cooler not completely in the cases back panel cut out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
You need to remove the back plate and take some tin snips and snip the part of the back plate off that hits the back of the motherboard tray. Just a small part of the top tabs that are for the AMD mounts. A good pair if scissors could also work if their sturdy enough.
See the top tabs that are not used for Intel you need to cut part of them off to get clearance. http://images.hardwarecanucks.com/image/akg/Air_Cooling/212P/backplate2_sm.jpg
I have done this 3 times with that case. It's nice to have lots of experience with using different parts.
The back plate does not fit the cutout for it.
