Can I fit 3 MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Video Cards on a Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming G1 EATX LGA1151 Motherboard?
I made a question a while back, and this guy told me that I can't fit 3 MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Video Cards on a Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming G1 EATX LGA1151 Motherboard?
If it isn't possible, do you suggest any other motherboards?

Thanks

I did read it, but a person told me that it wouldn't fit.... I wasn't sure if he was lying or not, so I asked the community.

The Gigabyte GA z170x Gaming G1 is the flagship. Can hold 4 video cards. With the GTX 980ti might be a squeeze depending on the dimension of the cards.
I do hope you have real good cooling - ventilation , I am sweating thinking of 3 in SLI and the cost. As for 4K resolution don't expect playing games with high FPS cause even the GTX680ti just scratches the surface. Forget about the Titans as not worth $900 to $1000 each. I believe sometime in 2017 we'll see what progress Motherboards, CPU's and Graphics as they head towards 4k. Might as well stick to the Xbox for now.

as long as all the slots used are x8 for NVidia sli min standard amd x-fire can use x4 [becareful ] you need a ''x'' board with a plx chip to do over 2 card sli -

well never mind giga got you covered nice surprise there ...

''There are four PCIe x16 slots, separated by three PCIe x1 slots, which is possible because of a PLX PCIe bridge chip. Between the bottom three slots are two M.2 slots, ready for both SATA 6 Gb/s and PCIe x4 drive devices. ''

4 x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots (x16/N.C./x16/N.C.; x8/x8/x8/x8)

nice for a ''Z'' board and a big plus at that should of been done with more ''Z'' boards in the past in my opinion

you should be good unles you go to set uop as they listed ''x16/N.C./x16/N.C.; '' so does that mean 2 way and 4 way only ??

or will 3 cards run 3 slots at x8 ??

thing about the fit is how far apart the slots are and todays cards being fat 2slot+ size don't help there so the card In the first slot may cover part of the 2ed slot and so on ??

so you pay for all those great features on the board that ends up you cant even use
