Hello

I'm trying to build a nice optimal steam/htpc in a case roughly console sized. I've been without a computer for years now and have survived off off my ps4 and android phone. I'm feeling pretty out of the loop, that's to say, if was was ever really in the loop to begin with.

Anyways....the details:

Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: 2-3 weeks.

Budget Range: (e.g.: ~$600) After Rebates; After Shipping

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, movies, surfing

Are you buying a monitor: No, will be used with 1080 TV exclusively.

Do you need to buy OS: yes/maybe. I'll take Windows if the gaming community reccomends it. I'm not against a Linux based OS though.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Anywhere reliable. Have Amazon Prime. But if one of the other more aggressively priced retailers has the best deal and it plays nice with the shipping total, I'm okay with that.

Location: Portland, Oregon, USA

Parts Preferences: Optimally matched CPU and Video card. I like Intel/Nvidia, but if AMD/Radeon are more competitively priced for performance on a 1080p tv build, I'm okay with that. Would like onboard WiFi.

Overclocking: not likely

SLI or Crossfire: no

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: Would like a relatively quiet pc. There will probably be 2 in the same room. I'm not against stretching the budget if the difference is in order of magnitude better. But I will probably be buying this build twice in one sitting, so any stretching would be doubled. The wife, of course.

Solution
I cannot find one but if you can find a case that is a bit higher I will re-make the build because I really wanted the case to be as small as possible to imitate a console but I don't know how small you actually want it to be. If you find a good case with ATX PSU compatability post it here so I can make another build. So far I got this:

CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor ($124.99 @ SuperBiiz)

Memory: G.Skill NT Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($34.99 @ Newegg)
