PC not using its full installed memory! help required

HEY! I recently got windows10 in my pc and it became slow so I searched on the internet and came across a video in which he/she showed me a way to increase my pc speed , so I have 6 gigs of installed DDR3 memory in my PC and when I try to change the BOOT performance settings in Windows Via "msconfig" it shows me the memory 6166 ( I guess) but when I select it and apply it. it doesnot remain there and changes back to 2144( don't know the exact value) I have tried restarting serval times but it gives that same value of 2144 instead of 6000+ I want to keep my PC at 6000+ please help! my copy paste speed sucks
