My build is currently as follows:
CPU - i5 4690K
GPU - XFX R7 250
RAM - 8.00GB
Motherboard - MSI H81M-E33
HDD - 931GB TOSHIBA DT01ACA100
Optical Drive - HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH24NSC0
PSU - I just know it's 350W

I intend to replace the XFX R7 250 with an MSI R9 390X but I know that I won't be able to manage a 390X with a 350W power supply so given the specs of my current build what is the minimum wattage I would need out of a power supply to support the R9 390X?

I would get a 650 watt PSU. it could be slightly over what is needed but head room is always worth it. I would highly suggest at least an 80 PLUS BRONZE rated XFX EVGA Corsair non CX or CXM series ( RM or AX is good ) or seasonic PSU. I am sure some kind soul here can post the PSU tier link to show you want to go for. pretty much get tier one or two.
