I have a 500watt Power Supply, and I also wanted to get a MSI GTX 960 2GB, but with my current power supply I only have 1 8pin connector which is being used to power my CPU, and I was wondering would getting an 1 Pin Splitter, with one female end to put in my current 8pin connector and then the two male ends could be used to power my GPU and CPU. Would this work as I figured it would be extending my current 8pin Connector's reach with two endings. Could anyone confirm if this would something that may work or will it blow up and set my house on fire.

Thanks,

Power connector for CPU is called EPS and though it is 8-pin format, it can't be used to power the graphics card. Power connector for Graphics card is called PEG and it is also in 8-pin format along with 6-pin format. These two are different and can't be used interchangeably.

I've got around £50/60 to spend on a PSU, what would you recommend for value for money that will get the job done for me
