Hi, i bought this from ebay

it says asus gtx 660 ti on the card

http://www.ebay.com/itm/281871298175_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

it crashes early in games like battlefield 4 and fifa 15 but runs fifa 14 and dead space 3 on high settings. the crash is direct x error hung or driver stopped responding
im getting a strong feeling this is a rip of since it can run the games with lower specs?
i tried both on windows 8 and windows 10 with same results.

gpu-z does say it got 2 gb ddr5 but gk104 and not gk106 as listed from seller. it also says 128 bit and not 384 bit as listed by seller.

at first i thought i had driver issues but since fifa 14 and dead space 3 is running at high settings im not sure.

i got a geforce gt 740 2gb ddr5 working in the same computer without problems

computer specs

intel core 2 quad q6600

6 gb ram ddr2 800 mhz

500 w new psu tested and working with the geforce gt 740 card

im not sure about this since it runs the lower spec games but crashes with all games with higher specs could it be a fake card with fake bios?

it could be. the only way I know of for sure is to remove the cooling and actually see what chip it is equipped with.
do this only if you are aware of Electro Static Discharge and precautions against it. this can kill the card.

Hi,
The GTX 660Ti is GK 104, not GK 106, and instead of 384Bit, the GTX 660 Ti is 192Bit. Looks like you have GTX 650Ti, since the GTX 650Ti is 128Bit, has 2GB GDDR5 and it is GK 106. Maybe the seller mixed the specs on purpose. Try with GTX 650Ti drivers to see if there are still DX errors in games like BF4 and FIFA 15.
If the games run fine with GTX 650Ti drivers, than you will know that the seller has misguided you in purchasing different GPU.

thanks , i will try 650 drivers im not sure where to get the driver though since i only find the gameready drivers and i guess that will install the 660 drivers autmaticly since it reads the card as 660.
the gpu core clock is 850 mhz and from what i can see 660 ti has higher frequency i did find one bios file on techpowerup that had
850 mhz though so im not sure. i also thought 660 ti has 6 pin power but this car dont.
here is a screenshot from gpu-z http://gpuz.techpowerup.com/16/02/01/tpm.png

i tried running 3d mark and it ran for a while with fps up to 300 on the first tests then crashed on the second test
