k so get this...
Yesterday I got a brand new wd my Passport 1tb HDD. It ran fine yesterday. uPnP worked fine and I installed the software and everything was good.
I performed a system restore as I was trying to get virtual box to go to install on my computer and clicked okay on a file I wasn't sure off. To be safe I restored to a previous version of windows
anyways the drive now wont show up. I think the driver isn't installing properly as the disk isn't listed in disk management.
I have used diskpart and it's not listed in there either. I don't know what else to do.
I have tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling from the vendor website and still nothing.
I have tried restarting a couple of times since the restart (also with other USB storage removed from my computer)
I have tried to update the driver using the device manager.
I have tried to update the driver using windows update.
uPnP wont work if I uninstall the driver and simply plug it back in. It says driver software not found (probably because I moved the WD utilities into a folder to keep it all consolidated away from my data)
I am ready to format my C drive with a fresh install of windows as its pissing me off that much. lol
Just thought I'd come here and as for information in case there's something I'm missing.
