I having been trying to add two extra RAM sticks to a Asus F2A85-M Motherboard. Got them from the company I bought the PC from after getting advice on what was appropriate. So the motherboard now has 4 x 4 GB PC3-10666 1333MHz DDR3 Memory. System information is showing the 16 Gb physical memory, windows memory diagnostics doesn't show any problems and I took out the CMOS battery when I installed the extra RAM. However, the PC keeps re-booting. Sometimes it will be fine for a couple of hours but I've still not managed to working out why... I've tried re-seating the memory a few times but all to no avail!

I have looked through previous posts about this kind of issue but I can't see anything I'm missing... but there obviously is something... I'm starting to get concerned I've 'fat-fingered' something... It was fiendishly difficult to get my fingers round the heatsink above the CPU... If anyone has any suggestions, I'd very much welcome them!

Hello, thanks for the suggestion, which indirectly resolved the problem. As I took the existing memory out to try your suggestion, I notice that despite the fact that it had been sold to me as having PC3-10666 1333MHz DDR3 Memory, in fact it had PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3... Problem solved!

Thanks so much for responding so quickly, it's much appreciated!
