Need help remembering the name of an old online planet battle game

I played a computer game when I was younger and was looking to play it again. I can't remember the name of the game though! The aim of the game was to control all the planets in the galaxy. it was a simple 2D game. You started with one planet and had to send your ships out to conquer other planets however there are three other factions that are trying to control the galaxy too. You're also able to control what the planets specialize in whether it be Economic, Starship building, defense, and others. I would love to be able to play this game but I can't find the game anywhere and I don't know the name. Can you please help?

Maybe the original Master of Orion, perhaps? Do you recall semi blocky graphics, stacks of starships or Orion? It can be found on GOG for a couple bucks if that's it.

Sounds like MOO to me also, great game. Spent may hours on that thing going "just one more turn" LOL. There is also a free similar game that was made called FreeOrion http://www.freeorion.org/index.php/Main_Page

Did you ever figure this out? Because I remember exactly what you're talking about and have been trying to remember for months, without success. Its not MOO. It's an online flash game. You send little triangle ships all over the screen from planet to planet trying to capture the entire board. For the life of me, I can't remember it.
