Hello

I have a Sony Vaio SVE14A25CLB https://esupport.sony.com/LA/p/model-home.pl?Change_Template=1&session_id=a6c52b73bd4d6bff1abbb690ccb52e98&tab=manuals&mdl=SVE14A25CLB

and I buy the intel dual band wireless ac-7260 http://www.amazon.com/Bplus-7260-HMWG-Wireless-AC-Bluetooth-HMCPartner/dp/B00HJCBV64/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1454342263&sr=8-2&keywords=intel+dual+band+wireless-ac+7260

after I change the adapter, and reinstall the windows 7 ultimate, and install all the drivers

I would appreciate some help! Thanks!

Solution
There might be a Fn+FUNCTION Key that turns on the WiFi.

Did you install the HOTKEY Utility?

The other thing is that the Wireless network card is not compatible with the laptop. Most laptop hardware is proprietary and, therefore, will not allow you to change components like wireless network cards or video cards.

You might have to contact Sony to see about the compatibility.

finally I fix the problem!

I found the solution in this site

https://communities.intel.com/thread/51030?start=0&tstart=0

Taped pin # 20 and pin # 51 on the Intel 7260 AC Wifi card

and I complete the solution with this other site

https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Request-Lenovo-IdeaPad-Z580-whitelist-removal-Bios-5FCN95WW

and this video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mw5HLg2rGuk

taped pin #20 you disable the option to turn on/off
taped pin #51 you enable the bluetooth

picture of the pin #20 is already taped

As I have not seen anyone mention it yet, this solution works on the Acer Aspire ES1-512-P0SY. It is likely that it will work on other Acer computers as well. It is my hope that this comment will be indexed by search engines like google, so that others with Acer laptops, and desktops, can find the solution to this problem. I saw one poor soul on the Intel forums with the same laptop model and the same issue with the same wireless card, though I don't think he ever found a solution.

The symptoms of the issue were that the option to enable Wi-fI in the charms menu/right side, was greyed out. Nothing seemed to fix it, from reinstalling Windows, to messing around with driver versions.

I only taped pin number 20. I now have full functionality of the Wireless card! The Acer Aspire ES1-512 is also known as the Acer Aspire E 15 Start.
