Weird Internet Connection Problem

About 1-2 months ago I started to have Internet disconnects and experienced a lot of lag after we changed ISP and modems. Through the process of elimination I now belief that my wireless network card may actually have been defective. I changed out the card and have a new one.

The Internet disconnects and lag spikes have dramatically decreased back to the point how they were before we made changes to the Internet. However, almost without fail every morning when I turn on the computer, the wireless displays "no Internet" activity over the connection. It appears as if my card is detecting the router signal because I see the name of the router and usually 4 out of 5 bars but I see a yellow caution symbol over the bars and when I mouse over it, it says no Internet.

The remedy is for me to unplug the router and plug it back in. After I do this my Internet on my computer is restored. Why is this happening? It seems to occur ever time I turn off the computer and turn it back on and sometimes when I am using it. Could it be a sign that I got another defective network card? Is the slot on the motherboard bad? Is it a software issue? What can I do to stop it?

Most routers have a web gui that you can use to perform upgrades. There should be a guided gui that helps you do this, but if there is not one or it isn't helpful, then just use google search to find how to upgrade your router.

Just curious, but what is your OS? windows 7, windows 10?
