Hello community,

I'm building my new PC. I've already bought everything, except the CPU cooler. Here is what I have so far:

■ CPU: Intel i5 6600k
■ CPU cooler: HELP ME CHOOSE
■ Mobo: ASRock Extreme6
■ Memory: HyperX FURY 8GB DDR4 2400 (PC 19200) HX424C15FB/8
■ SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
■ Video card: Planning to buy a GTX970 in near future
■ PSU: Corsair HX650W MPSU-650HX
■ Case: Cooler Master Silencio 550

I stil have around $70 and still need to buy a CPU cooler. I've found a H80i (refurbished) on eBay, and a Cryorig H7 on Amazon.
If I buy the Cryorig, I can still take another HyperX memory, making my machine 16GB.

I'll use mainly for gaming, altough some Adobe Premiere and After Effects too.

I've read a lot of reviews, even here in the forums, but still can't decide if is worth to buy the Cryorig H7 and memory or just go and take the H80i.

Anyone here with this CPU and these coolers could help me by giving some information about how good are these two cooling systems compared each other?

The H7 is enough or should I go directly to the H80i? Any other sugestion besides these two?

Ps.: Since my case is a CM Silencio 550, I can't take a 140mm cooler and must not be higher than 154mm.

Thanks in advance!

Cryorig H7 or Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo is a good choice but both of them coolers have sleeve bearing 120mm fans which are junk in the long run. I just ordered the Cryorig H7 and bought a PWM COUGAR CF-V12HPB to replace Cryrig's fan. Haven't heard anything bad about H7's yet but there is a lot of complaints about the Hyper 12 Evo's fan being noisy and going out with in a year. Regardless of the cooler if it has a sleeve bearing fan I'd replace it.

Neither, Hyper 212 Evo gives you the same cooling performance with a much lower cost (much lower chance of a leak damaging your other components as well). That and a couple case fans will serve you just fine.

Simple installation video here ^

Unmatched Compatibility
Zero RAM Interference

Focusing on providing the widest range of
compatibility, the H7 utilizes an asymmetric slanted
heatpipe layout to move the heatsink away from the
RAM zone, Offering optimal compatibility for RAM
with tall heat spreaders on both Intel 115X and
AMD platforms.

In this size I was thinking about the H5 Ultimate. But since the spec say it won't fit, I manly had choosen the H7. I'll measure the case space today to see if it will fit.

Have you seen a Hyper 212 in this case before? Did it fit properly?

Guys, I really appreciate the answers.

An update:

In my current build, I use an Evercool Transformer 3.

It fits pretty well, besides the pipes touch the foam just a little. Looking at the specs, the Transformer 3 is 160mm tall.

I should have looked at that before creating this post, since I could suggest other coolers like the Cryorig H5 or Noctua DH-D14/15.

Anyway, thanks a lot! My biggest concern here was if a Water Cooler is really worth the money.

Best regards!!!
