Ok so if your planing to play at 1080p your build would kinda be overkill. But at higher resolutions your build would be unbalanced to say the least. Even at 1080p, your system still has some odd choices.

Firstly, a 6700k is overkill for a gtx 960. So you might want to go for a 6600K or 6500, both can handle higher resolutions.

Your cooler is fine and could handle a little bit of overclocking.

Your board is an excellent one, keep it. Its future proof

16gb of RAM could be a bit to much for what you plan to do on it. 8gb would work, but going for 16gb is reasonable.

The WD red is a NAS drive, its meant for continuous use not for performance. Go for a WD Black, Blue or Green.

Your case is micro ATX and your motherboard ATX. This would make installation impossible. Choose an ATX case!

A VS power supply is low quality and is meant only for budget builds. Maybe go for a CS series

And your sound card is really necessary unless you have a 7.1 surround set up.

Finally maybe go for a GTX 970 with a 6600 i5

Hope I helped!

I dont know what your budget is, but I would recommend a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD as a boot drive.

You went down to a 500GB HD. If that will suffice for a while, then you can go with the SSD, then add another HD later.
