Monitor not receiving signal

I know this is most likely a very common issue people have, but nothing I've found anywhere on the internet has been beneficial, so I thought I should create new thread.

I have a relatively new custom built PC (probably made 2 years ago max). It worked fine for a long time, but for some odd reason, started to run into some heating issue with the CPU. I had the side of my PC off for awhile because it seemed to bring the temps to an acceptable range.

I'm not too sure of the exact specs but I don't feel like they are neccessary for the problem I'm experiencing. If it is a must, I'm sure I can find out some things for you guys. The best I can give you right now are as follows:

ASUS Motherboard
Nvidia GTX Graphics Card
Acer monitor

Everything works fine, the fans turn on, all the lights work.

There are not any beeps coming from the mobo speaker. The motherboard's green light turns on (can anyone tell me whether or not that is indicative of a fried motherboard? If the light turns on, is the motherboard not fried?)

I've tried removing and replacing the graphics card, and basic troubleshooting things to no avail. My plan is to re-seat everything after school tomorrow, but I would love to get some input before-hand.

Thanks!

Can you establish on a different PC that the monitor itself is not faulty before suspecting that a PC component is to blame?

That would be really useful to start with. A process of elimination like that can tell you a lot.

Likewise with the graphics card. Test it on another system if at all possible, or borrow any known working graphics card to try in your PC. Doesn't have to be a gaming card, it's only required for a simple test.

I don't have access to another PC tower to do that with, but what I did in fact do, was try to hook up my TV to my graphics card via HDMI. No avail.

I went ahead and did a whole bunch of troubleshooting myself, and I'm starting to just think this mobo is just ... trash at this point.

I've taken the entire PC apart, and just did absolute bare-bones setup, with just the PSU, mobo, HD, and of course, monitor. I can't even get the damn thing to boot up whatsoever. No beeps or anything. Tried resetting and clearing CMOS.. Not sure what else to try honestly.

Yeah for sure. Weird thing is this.. I guess I should have put more info in the first post, my mistake.

It's my brothers Desktop, he just brought it over to my place, it hasn't been used frequently in probably a year. Same reason why I don't know the exact specs he is running. Although I did help him pick the parts and assemble, it was over 2 years ago like I said.

Anyways, he has it up and running no problem, just trying to figure out some sound driver issue. I go to the store, and when I get home, he's having this problem. As far as I know he didn't mess with anything inside the computer, so it just doesn't make sense why the mobo would just crap out like that out of nowhere? Or is that something that is actually possible?

I guess another question is even though everything is still functioning, its just the PC is not booting, that's likely indicative of a bad motherboard?

Could this issue be anything other than a motherboard issue? If that is the case I will probably just go buy another mobo if I can find one relatively cheap... I just don't want that to not be the issue and waste more time & money.
