Actually my pendrive got detected by USB port but it is not displayed as real drive.. It is been displayed as a virtual drive like CD drive while there is no CD inside it a virtual drive will be. Present right.. Like that its getting displayed.. I cannot see it in device manager and I cannot right click to view properties or to format it. The computer is not responding. Please provide steps to format the pen drive.

This can happen when the system sees the controller on the stick but not the storage. Try it in a different computer, if it does the same thing, toss it and get a new one.
