My Budget Gaming System

Alright, okay, let's see what box of goodies I can bring up.
And what country are you in?

I guess this is it. I remember the GTX 760 vs R9 270X. The two card did about the same, though I'm sure the R9 270X won. What's the relevance? R9 270X is R9 370X, and GTX 760 is barely weaker than a GTX 950. Hm... That makes it hard to decide.

on the op build there only two parts that should be changed. the cx power supply is not a good unit. look at evga 600b. the other parts is ssd a 120g drive is real small. with 10 going to eat 30-50g of space on the small 120g drive and not leave you room for many steam games.

I am in East Malaysia, Sabah. Its a small city, very far from the capital.

The GTX 950 recommended runs on 128 bit, & my thinking was that bitrate affects graphics display greatly. Which was why i selected R7 370, which runs on 256 bit. My bro got a used GTX 460 1GB GDDR5 256 bit for USD$60, which he sloted on his cheap $60 Asrock MB using Phenom II processor, with 2GB DDR2 800Mhz Ram, & playing HON, he ran full specs smooth as baby's ass. I am also buying the R7 at dealer rate, & my dealer has limited choice, its the only 256 bitrate card I can afford.

The MB I can try to find, since my supplier only deals in Gigabyte & Cooler Master products. Will be grateful if can provide a budget gaming setup using Gigabyte graphics card, MB, & cooler master power supply & casing

Argh... Cooler Master always have quibbles with their PSUs, like Rosewill does. Oh well, I'll try my best.

I would like to ask also, I may be leaving my comp on for hours overnight, downloading stuff, so casing wise was advised to avoid silencio, as may heat up inside. Can I ask about PSU wattage? is slightly higher wattage gonna affect my electric bill significantly...?

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3P ATX LGA1151 Motherboard - RM646.60 ($161.65)
Memory - Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 Memory - RM440 ($110)
Storage - SSD HyperX Fury 240GB - RM360 ($90)
- Western Digital SATA 2TB (earx)(green) - RM225 ($56.25) bought used, 2 months old
- Seagate SATA 7200, 500GB (bought in 2010, still usable)
Video Card - Gigabyte Radeon R7 370 2GB WINDFORCE 2X Video Card ) - RM636 ($159)
Case - Cooler Master N400 ATX Mid Tower Case - RM200.34 ($50.09)
Power Supply - SeaSonic S12II 620W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply - RM300 ($75)
WiFi Card - TP-Link TL-WN881ND 802.11b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter - RM60 ($15)
Keyboard/Mouse - Razer Cynosa Pro Bundle w/ Deathadder mouse RM295.74 ($73.94)
UPS - Power Logic KOSS UPS 800VA - RM160 ($40)

TOTAL COST: - RM3,843.68 ($960.92)

I know I went over budget, especially with RAM purchase - my thinking was that if I tested that I really do not need 16GB ram, i can always sell the extra 1x8GB for good value. (RM250?)

Installation - Was frustrating in the beginning, made motherboard installation mistakes, forgot to screw on stand-off sockets. Then plugging in front panel cables, plugin +/- wrongly, luckily later found a G Connector provided by MB, rectified my mistakes. Then installed my SSD, broke one of the SATA power connector, dented 2 pins on my SSD (nearly cried) & cracked off a bit of the SSD, then finally manage to setup all the HDs. No issue with Wifi card, processor & video card, though my cable management still messy...finally setup with UPS, start...cannot POST.

I tried removing rams & HDs, no avail...later was about to post to Tom's when i read the guild for installing new PC...n found out i made newbie error no.2, forgot 12V power connector for processor...no wonder lah...so remedy that, open to BIOs, manage to update to latest BIOs from Gigabyte...success...tomorrow will then try to install Win7, later to be upgraded to Win 10.

Future purchases - Case supports 8 fans, 2 provided, may have to buy 6 more...will be attempting to overclock this i3-6100, so am seriously considering liquid cooling, saw & liked a Corsair cooler, only to find out it costs nearly RM500 ($125)...so am now looking for cheaper liquid cooling solutions. Any ideas?

PS: Seasonic PSU very quiet, highly recommended...
