So, can I upgrade thd performance of existing p7-1026? It has Phenom 2 x4 840 and I want to jump to fx6300, and I have a gt650 and want to jump to a gt950. I also have 6 gb ram I added another 4gb and now have 10, will this make a good gaming PC should I be able to upgrade?

The AMD FX-6300 is an AM3+ CPU, whereas the board in the HP Pavilion p7-1026 Desktop PC has an AM3 socket, so not compatible.
Had it been the other way around you would have been okay.
