That graphics card will [EDIT: Make that "should"] work with your motherboard, but it will most likely be limited in performance since the 945G chipset only supports PCIe 1.1 where the Radeon is a PCIe 2.0 card.
Your CPU most likely will also bottleneck that card if you play at high detail and high resolution settings.

You have plugged in the 6-pin power connector?
Check in your motherboard BIOS that the system is set to start PCIe and not on-board graphics first.
