Hello everyone,

So I wanna upgrade my ram for my i7 3770K PC, and when I was looking for one, I was notified that my 1.6v or 1.65v new ram actually exceeds the CPU maximum voltage which is 1.5v+5% (1.575v). Does this actually matter? Can’t I run a 2400mhz ram unless I overclock? Can I get at least a 1.6v ram?

My CPU and RAM are not overclocked and I will not cuz I’m no expert. xD

Thank you so much.

Lower voltages will always be more reliable and I do not recommend getting something that is not compatible with the CPU. It can still run in your situation but the chipset will get pretty hot.
Hello... If you got 4 sticks it normal to have to raise the Voltage to them... No worry... that's great if only 1.6v... I have to 1.65 with four sticks of 1.5, with my i73770... the Ram sticks/chips are typically rated to 1.8v MAX.
Yes... You have to read the fine print on buying Ram, the early models were all 1.65... you could RMA them if you feel skeptical for the recommended 1.5v.
