I have pc freezing problems for a long time and it became worse. My pc could boot normally if i keep restarting it when it freezes. I tried using memtest86 and i let it pass 2 times and i had no problems. Today my pc started up till the desktop and froze (that always happens at the first boot) but when i restarted my pc it booted but froze on welcome screen then i tried to restart again and then pc kept freezing on windows logo and then windows repair option appeared. I used it and after some hours my pc froze again and same thing happend with freezing on windows logo then i tried to repair windows again, my pc worked for like 10 minutes and froze.

Now when i try to boot my pc, a screen before beep that shows graphics card specs and bios version remains and wont pass. There is a blinking stick that keeps blinking and nothing happens. I tried to wait if it will pass but my pc restarted and showed "no signal" on monitor. I tried to turn off my pc and turn it on then it beeped but froze on slash screen and i cant get in to the bios settings or somewhere else. I tried to unplug pc from power and hold power button for 1 min and then turn pc. Pc passed slash screen but froze on windows logo and after restart it kept freezing on slash screen.

My specs:
Mobo: ga-n650sli-ds4
Cpu: intel E4300
Gpu: geforce 8600 GTS
Psu: 530 w
Ram: 2x1gb ddr2

I tried to remove pc from power again and tried memtest86 but pc froze on pass 1% and test 40% but that stick on screen kept blinking.
I restarted my pc and magic thing happened it passed slash screen and oh wait! It passed windows logo too!

How about that.. my pc became alive again! It was like i woke up from a nightmare but .... pc froze 3 mins after desktop appeared. So i restarted my pc. slash screen passed but pc froze on windows error recovery screen (choose safe mode/start windows normally) so i restarted again. Pc froze on windows error recovery screen. Restart. Froze on desktop 30 secs later. Restart. Froze again on desktop 30 secs later. Restart?!?!? Froze again on desktop. Ok my pc at least boots so ill try memtest (i turned off my pc and then turned on) and pc froze on pass 1% and test 74% and time 10 seconds. Ok lets try it again (turned pc off and on). Good. It passes 2%. Now 10%. 20%. 50%? But.... it froze on 63%.

Looks like my ram is bad? Should i change it?
Sorry for the long story :D

Bad PSU fan is not good. It is possible that the PSU is no longer outputting the proper power due to it overheating and it could cause the freezing you are seeing if the memory is unable to get the proper voltage.

I would try new RAM but I would also get a new PSU because that is just not good.

I guess its the ram because motherboard capacitors looks good and i have another computer that doesnt even boot and i tried putting my ram in it and that pc starts to make 3 beeps and no display on monitor

If you tested the RAM in another system and it had the same issue then I would agree that it is the RAM. Try putting in a new or known good stick in the one having the issues and running Memtest. If it does not freeze then the RAM is bad. If it does freeze then it would be the board.

I doubt it is the board but if it is not the RAM that would be the next most likely suspect.

seems it to be bad sector, therefore you can't boot, cuz your hard disk data can't be read

edit
but seems it to be your memory problem, since you have many trouble when running memory test
just forgot about hard disk

try to running memory test on 1 stick ram and another stick ram seperately and switching the ram slot

Looks like its time to find some new RAM....

A faulty hard drive would not cause the system to freeze when running Memtest 86 which is run outside of Windows so the hard drive has no affect on it.

It is more than likely the memory that is faulty.

One question, how to find the first ram slot? I have black, yellow and then black, yellow slots i guess black slots are primary (ij got ram modules in them) and yellow ones secondary but which one of the black slots are first? Then i can try one of them. Is there any marking?

But it is not freezing on POST. It is getting past POST to a cursor that blinks.

It also would not cause the Memtest86 app to freeze, again this program is run outside of Windows so there is no HDD loading being done when running it.

I just noticed that my psu fan doesnt spin.... its modecom mc 530

I tried to boot from second ram and it kept freezing. So i guess first one is good or got damaged by second one
