Should i buy a CPU off of amazon from another seller?

Solution

How much do you trust the seller, vs trusting Amazon?

New, it is £143.99
Used, it is £128 + £5 shipping = £133

So you're saving £10 for a used part. Less than 10%.
Not a chance.

It is still 'used'.
"Like new" means 'used, and I didn't step on it'.
Used parts on amazon from a 'seller' is little different than some guy on ebay.

You're not saving that much money vs new with 100% warranty from Intel.
You're saving 7% (£10).
If it was 1/2 off, that would be a different story.

I've been using Amazon a lot during the past 1.5 years and have bought from both Amazon and "sellers". So far I haven't had any negative experiences from any of Amazon's Sellers. The only bad shipment I received was for a cheap Micro USB Cable I ordered but received an Apple cable (from China) but the seller refunded my money and let me keep the cable, which I gave to an iPhone user I know.

As to your question... I would pay STRICT ATTENTION to the item's description from the seller. If you look closely... items that are said to be "like new" may have catches like dents, scratches and so on...

At first I was hesitant to buy from Amazon Sellers but I'm OK with it... but ONLY for new items. I still wouldn't buy a used item from an Amazon seller... and besides, if there is a problem you might not be able to ship it back.. and if you do... you would probably have to not only pay for Return Shipping... but the seller could probably charge you a Return/Stocking Fee... making it not worth it to even bother.

NOTE:
That seller you linked too only has two reviews. Are you sure you want to order from him?
